Foreign Credit Evaluation
Applicants who earned their bachelor's degrees from colleges or universities outside the United States must utilize services approved by CSU Monterey Bay to have a course-by-course evaluation performed of their undergraduate transcript(s). You may choose any translation and evaluation services provided by an NACES member. For a list of members visit: National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
Approved service providers:
English language proficiency must be demonstrated by any candidate whose undergraduate degree language of instruction was other than English, regardless of recent work history. Applicants must take and provide scores of either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The TOEFL Test is widely administered in a variety of test-taking formats.
The minimum score requirements for this program are as follows:
- Internet-based exam: 80
- Paper-based exam: 550
California State University, Monterey Bay's TOEFL code is 1945.
TOEFL scores must be sent directly to an Admissions Outreach Advisor. TOEFL scores are valid for two years after the test is administered.
The IELTS must be taken within the previous two years and the minimum score must equal or exceed 6.5.
